Hi Michael,
Not sure if I’m the only one, but your video keeps freezing just as you’re getting into the Wordpress thing.
Cheers,
Pete.

Can I be in the competition with my Danish website?
February 4th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
well thanks for your efforts Mike…. for the zero dollars was the bast part….
but actually you totally verify what I already know… I love it…
so that makes me feel secure that i’m not wasting my time doing the wrong thing..
love you

The auction is open to all though if a foreign website is the top bidder then my ability to review it and an influx of English-speaking traffic to your website might not be worth it for you.
Your call!
Michael

Great info. Something I know but its good to get this info from an expert!
February 4th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
Hello Michael,
Funnily enough, it was you who got me to get started with blogging not so long ago, I now have two.
I did take the easy route though to get started, and used blogger and then got my domain forwarded to it.
I use godaddy for all my domains and they don’t have the hosting to use fantastico for wordpress as far as I know..
will have to check that out.
Anyway, at least they are up and I am having some fun with them. I did take notice of what you said about hosting your own files, obviously important.
That video while basic to some, would have been perfect for anyone just wanting to get going.. I still watched it all!
Got a couple of giggles for the day, you are always entertaining at least,(bogroll)
etc.& happy 101th birthday! LOL
Like you said in the beginning of the video, it is free information, so will not be complaining ever
And I am off to watch your momentumTV one in a minute…
Won’t be joining the auction, I think that might turn into a bid war! so will stay out of that.. great idea though!
Cheers,
Dianne in NZ

Hey Mike
I’ll give you two cheeseburgers
next tuesday for a review?
lol
Keep up the training Michael, the tech stuff keeps a lot of people away from getting anywhere.
Looking for training on
files-
what kinds are there-
what do we do with them-
how do we open them, and with
what-
how to get are stuff uploaded
to our host(witch files do we use)-
Any training on the gizmoes in
c-panel would be good too.
Thanks

Hey Michael,
Thought I would add this here, as I figured it was quite important and to do with your video, and could save someone a lot of time and heartache if they are just getting started..
Just got this Wordpress Urgent Update about their Terms of Service & Banning certain Blogs.. Bit like the google slap this will affect a lot of people I’m sure…
===============================
Terms of Service:
http://wordpress.com/tos/
“…content designed to drive traffic to third party sites or boost the search engine rankings of third party sites.”
Types of Unacceptable Blogs:
http://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/
“Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs.”
===============================
Ouch! Quite glad I went with blogger.com now, Mind you they may do the same thing eventually too.
It is still free, & easy to set up. (& newbie friendly).
*Not wanting to contradict your advice by any means, but might just help someone depending what their blog is going to be about.

February 4th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Hey Michael,
I would’nt worry to much about the content. You can’t go wrong with basic quality content and the content you provided in this video was very good. I think that there are many more people that need this info as opposed to the latest blog seo tricks or blog traffic generation tactics.
One big plus to a word press.com blog that you did not mention is that they are loved by the search engines and that being hosted on wordpress.com and then linked back to your business blogs hosted on your own server account will drive lots of extra traffic to you business blog that you would not get just my linking all of your hosted blogs together from the same server.( does that make any sense)…….Anyway, great lesson.
Oh, I would also like to know how you get video on your blog.
I have been blogging for a while, and I have made a few attempts at adding video to some of my blogs without success.
Regards
Ron

Very good information for a beginner to see.
I have to say that I am impressed with what I have seen for free, regardless of what others may have said to you. Myself I have increased my adsense earnings from one of my sites just on the info you gave in the first two free videos, so Thank You.
February 4th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
Michael.
I really enjoy your videos..I am a real newbie and have much to learn, and I have almost no money so I have to try as many free things that I can learn..I would love to see a video about forums, how they work and how to read the posts and how to post…
Thank You
Elizabeth

I am trying to share my learnings thru the blog and you never know, i could use it to do small business in time to come, as i am new, i know nuts about blog and internet business. I need guidance and help!
February 4th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
Good basic information. Wordpress site also has a lot of ‘other’ blog info.
February 4th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Hi Michael,
Although some of us have already set up blogs and probably moved on, it’s good to be reminded that there are still ‘new’ people who have only just started to find there way through the confusing mass of information about Internet Marketing.
I think it’s fantastic that you’re taking the time to help those people find their way, as well as helping those of us who have progressed further ( I Hope that’s what you intend doing ).
Good for you, three cheers for Michael.. I’m looking forward to further episodes in your HOW TO DO IT Series. It’s kind of like waiting for the next episode of 24. Good stuff and free too.
Cheers

Hi, MC
Wow! i love the enthusiasm that you put into your videos, the life you enthuse into them cannot be beaten.
Maybe, if i ever manage to make some serious money from my marketing ventures, i will pay you the $10,000 fee for your help. Alas that may take more time than i have years left.
Whoever wins the bid can be most certain that life in marketing will improve tremendously, as i think that you are one of the few guys out there that do deliver way more than any others…
Great work

Hi Mike,
My name is David Dubbs I would say i’m a decent marketer withj a well known name on the internet. I’m doing a few things and would your input. Instead of bidding how about I tie you to a percentage of profits? I’ve been known to bring in some big dollars.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
I bid $200.
Actually, I was going to email you about promoting my new membership site, but I’ll pay for it if I have to!
February 5th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
Ok, my bid is $500. hey Michael, if you choose me I’ll even give you 100% of every sale generated!
February 5th, 2008 at 2:20 pm

February 5th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
LOL Pawel bidded while I was bidding. OK I’ll bid $501…
February 5th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Hi Michael, I like all of your products and your videos. I don’t think anyone has the right to be critical of your methods, red pen,
not enough content etc. You are making the effort for FREE. I think people get ‘hung up’ with details, and don’t get as much accomplished. I think it’s a very generous offer. You had to work to build your list, so I will bid $225.00.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Hi Michael,
Great info as always
Best regards,
Boris Lindinger
February 5th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
Hi Michael,
So far, a free Wordpress.com blog has been my only long-term success-story on the Internet.
Through Great Original Content alone, I have reached Page Rank 4 (and did so very quickly).
___ However, getting incoming links is another story. Info about that, other than paying and spending hours on Forums to get my sig file seen, would be appreciated.
I have been mulling over whether I should transform some of my Original Content into articles and post them online in article directories, but without an allowable way to “monetize” my Wordpress.com blog, it seems the “time” is not yet right. Is that correct a assessmant?
So, now for some questions.
___ Any ideas of how to have one “acceptable” link, in the BlogRoll section, that might help me monetize my Wordpress.com blog? For example: Would connections to a Web 2.0 personal-page (that is monetized) work and be allowed at Wordpress.com?
___ I also wanted to mention to Newbies, that when you “transport” all of your Wordpress.com blog to your own website, you LOSE your Page Rank and Alexa rating etc.
___ SO, Michael, include instructions, please, to redirect BACK to your free Wordpress.com Blog, at least in an archived form, rather than moving it to any new website we may want to have our own “new” blog on, in the future, please.
I assume that when I go to set-up my own Wordpress.org blog on my own website (dream at this time), I will be able to “match” my template from those at Wordpress.org to the one I have at Wordpress.com.
Would that be a correct assumption? I know Wordpress.org will have many MORE choices, but I hope they have the “Basic” templates from the free site, there too.
___ Anyway, I don’t want to lose 1 year’s work and its ratings, so is this the only way I can think of to keep them, by linking to what will be my “old” blog, to my “new” Wordpress.org on my own website,at some point, or do you know another way?
Thanks for all your help, Michael.
With Kindest Regards,
Meg
February 5th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
hi michael. great vid.. one question. how do we place a bid? or do we just write it in the comment section?
February 5th, 2008 at 3:15 pm
Yes Mr. “Guaranteed Website Traffic” - just post your bid as a comment here. Current top bid at the time of writing is $501.
Thanks,
Michael Cheney
February 5th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
My bid is $145 Thank you per your valued videos,

February 5th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
Good content, Michael, especially for the price. I certainly wouldn’t mind a site review, but I’m afraid my sites are mainly locally relevant to my “brick and mortar” business, so the mail out to your list really wouldn’t help me much. Meg was asking about starting her own Wordpress blog, and linking it to her old one. My solution was to make a last post in my old one, simply saying that the blog had moved to a new location, with a link to the new one in the post and in the blogroll. You get a couple of high PR links to your new blog immediately, and you can then monetize the new one. I use HostJacker.com, and they even have auto Wordpress install (just a few clicks), and it does have the same basic templates as Wordpress.com’s free blog, plus they’re relatively cheap for a premium host.
Although this video basically covered stuff I already knew, it obviously was well done and can help a lot of people, and I’ll definitely be back for any future ones. By the way, your upbeat attitude towards your critics is great. Keep it up.
February 5th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
I bid $698
February 5th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Hey Michael,I think we all appreciate the free content and your offer to review our sites and allow us to send an email to your list was generous,I have been out bid by your highest bidder already.
But continue sending out your content.I have just had a stroke of genius maybe we could possibly consider trading autoresponders for a week.
February 5th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
Hi Michael Great idea, this is going to be the year for great ideas, from great internet marketeers. What you are basically doing is selling your marketing list and creating subscriber content. So I think you should make it a little bigger, one person is too big and too short.I would like to see you let five people buy in at the top bid each. Then review one site every day for five days.
February 5th, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Well, ok let’s bump it up to $750…lol
February 5th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
Hi Michael,
Great original concept, you have my attention now.
Couple of questions for you?
How big is your list, I don’t mind if you want this to remain private so email me if you wish with this answer.
Second question, I paint pet portraits and am a keen student of internet marketing and have been viewing your emails and videos for a couple of months now.
Should I bid if my product is not so suited to your lists interests?
Thanks,
Greg the Pet Painter.

Dear Michael Sir.
You are awsome in this field, I do not understand how you are doing all these things, whereyou find time are you having 30 hours in a day, I feel very much at the age of 64 years that I have wasred my 64 seasons without doing any thing constructively to help others (I have not helped myself) on the outset I am not knowing the proper computer operations, time and again I have requsted you to help me to get a pay pal account because I do not have account of any type or any type of cards, can you assess that I will be able do this internet Job and succeed in life please tell.

February 6th, 2008 at 1:29 am
I bid $999.
February 6th, 2008 at 2:30 am
Thank you all for your kind comments - I really appreciate it.
The highest bid is, at the time of writing, $999. The size of my list isn’t as important as the number of people who will visit your website.
You can expect to get between 1000-2000 people landing on your website because of winning this combined review and promo out to my list.
Greg - the odds are that a lot of these people will have pets!
Good luck bidding if you are still keen to have an Episode next week filmed and broadcast JUST about YOUR website..
Michael Cheney
February 6th, 2008 at 3:21 am
Great info but sorry I dont want to bid.
February 6th, 2008 at 3:25 am
Well, ok let’s bump it up to $1100
February 6th, 2008 at 6:49 am
Ok.. I gotta ask…
how big is this list?
(i like to invest but hate to gamble)
I know others are thinking this question.
February 6th, 2008 at 6:54 am
How Big Is My List?
That’s personal!
Okay, okay - I can see why you would want to know (though the responsiveness is more important that the size).
This review-promo will be going out to nearly 60,000 people that have opted in to my list.
Thanks,
Michael Cheney

I enjoy watching the videos and I think my web site could do with one or two! How do you make the videos and post them on to your site? Can you recommend any software?
When you use your ‘red pen’ and white board what software are you using?
Kind regards

Hi Michael,
Congratulations on your videos. This invitation could be considered as either a bid or, after the auction, as a separate opportunity to create long term, residual, lucrative income. I would love to send you some products to trial if you send me a mailing address.

February 6th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Thanks, Michael for this video. I am one of the persons you referred to that has limited knowledge and had not created a blog yet. Thanks again. I think I subscribed to your joint venture group a few months ago and got that website but have not completed doing everything that I was supposed to do. I will get back into the videos and try to get serious.
February 7th, 2008 at 3:59 am
Just got my own hosting purchased and a few domains - blogs are going to be a very needed part of all of it to make it work online today. You’ve got some excellent points about blogs and please keep it flowin because that is what blogs is all about - right. A bid, well how bout one of my home made pizzas cause I’m busted flat after buying all that hosting and domains. Pizza is awesome I might add.
February 7th, 2008 at 4:51 am
Hey Mike this is really diffrent and intresting, finanly someone, you made it possible for new others specially new commers getting started out to get it from the hourses mouth(figure of speach)someone whos been there and done it. Ive been owning a domain name for 3 months and have not been able to set up my website yet,but thanks to this information you provide i now think i might be able to get started, Thanks guy!
February 7th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
The excitement continues!
I think Pawel really wants to win this, (and who can blame him? It’s a very cool idea from Michael).
Since I don’t have any further multiples of the 101 theme left to go with and since i’ve already won a JV with Andrew Fox recently, i’ll not be greedy and i’ll watch with interest to see if Pawel gets his way.
Good luck Pawel (and everyone else!

February 8th, 2008 at 9:02 am
Hello Michael,
Thanks for showing me that I already seem to know a few thing about ‘Blogging’ already.
I also have a little experience with ‘TravelBlogging’ (also have a specific Happy Travel Blogspot BTW)
I have to confess that I didn’t even realise that I actually seem to know a lot about Blogging already because
atleast I also have Adsense ads, Affiliate Products on them and even already made several attempts to make them more and more attractive for my visitors to (re)visit.
With for example all kinds of Inspirational ‘Daily Items’ and ‘Daily Funnies’ and a Movie Realease widget etc. etc.
(Working “ON” my ‘Online Business’ instead of “IN” my Business.)
I also besides the Main ‘HP’s Happy Blogspot’ and my Happy Travel Blogspot, also have
several other Specific
BLOGSPOTS.
With for example ‘Writing Tip of the Day’ and ‘BlogTalkRadio’ on my Happy WRITING Blogspot,
and a ‘Guess a Song to Get TopScore’ widget on my
Happy MUSIC Blogspot.
For what a bid is concerned; a responsive list of 60.000 does sound interesting…,
Unfortunately I can only determine a bid when you have done a mailing to your list first, if it results in a considerable inflow of money to my PayPal account, I will be Happy to share some of it with you. I am nog against your prosperity.
So it can be something ranging to something from ‘ZERO’ to something with a lot of ZERO’s I don’t know. (I guess that there might be a possible interesting ’scalability’ potential.)
That’s exactly the way I work with my ‘Publishing on Demand Company’ (lulu.com) I only pay them when I have money comming in. That way I am happy to pay them because it’s a great WIN/WIN-situation that makes everybody HAPPY.
I would also appriciate a little TEST on a somewhat smaller SCALE like for example a mailing to a selection of ‘only’ 100, 500 or 1000 possible prospects.
Because I also don’t want to directly ‘Poison’
your whole list with my ‘Happy Blogspot(s)’ if it’s leaves them in ‘a state of shock’ for a few months or something like that
It would also give me a better indication of what to put more attention to most, If I can get valuable feedback from my visitors to be able to improve my product? or if I sould focus on letting my visitors revisit? or should I focus on my conversions or whatever?
Because I have to confess - although I do have an increasing amount of ‘little successes’ (creating momentum) every step of the way - I alway’s welcome good feedback and support.
All the Best,
HP
February 8th, 2008 at 9:14 am
oh man, if I only got up earlier this morning I would have bumped it up higher
February 8th, 2008 at 10:02 am
Is that the auction finished then?
February 8th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Yes - the auction is closed for this time around.
Thank you to all those of you who placed a bid including;
Greg, Pawel, Roy, Eric, Ben and Matthew.
Don’t worry if you missed out this time - I will be running another auction in a future Episode.
I imagine the bids will be higher next time once you’ve seen the video review I produce for Irene.
Irene - I am emailing you right now with details of how this is going to work.
Thank you again,
Michael Cheney
