Great site reviews. I watch your reviews of other sites and apply what i learn to my own. Today i learned, get straight to the point and state the purpose of the site as clearly as possible. I have lots of work to do.

    Great Review!

You get straight to the point.
Factual informative sites don’t work. People get bored so easily, if they can’t get it in 30 seconds they are away!

Your rebranding ideas just hit a chord with a site I’m working on at the minute.

I need more PAIN! Hmm, on with the thinking cap.

Hi Michael … One n All readers n posters
My 1st thoughts … when trying to help? and not being negative! … The 1st page CLICKREPORT.COM web site would be best served as the 2nd page after the prospect gets access from the Lead Capture landing Page

By following your style Michael … a video would be good for a trust site like this CLICKREPORT.COM a very generous page …

All my Best to You and Yours

    Great review Michael!

I agree with adding a video to show what the service does.

What about using some type of multivariate/split testing script to test various elements of the page?

Try just the video with the signup form, plus more variations on that with adding bullet points as well, for those who like to read the features!

Using the multivariate, you could test a whole bunch of elements. With the bullet points why not write 2-3 variations for each bullet point?

Then let the multivariate test to find out exactly what gets the best conversions.

Google has a free one inside adwords:

And like mentioned on the free trial signup page. I agree, that page is a conversion killer for a online service!

I previously run an ecommerce site selling tangible goods, and I didn’t require that much information. You need to make it as easy as possible to get people in the door.

The more information you ask for, the more abandonment will occur. When I first looked at the signup page, before I see it in the video. I closed the page straight away, I’m not interested in giving that much info if you’re not shipping something to me!

You have their name and email from the new signup form. So you could use their email for the login username, have a password auto-generated. That would remove those extra fields on the current signup page.

    ============
Michael didn’t mention if it’s just more signups you are looking for. Or if you are also looking to convert more to paid customers after they signup for the trial.

It might be converting very well once they actually try the service, so the following is just ideas not knowing the full details!…

On the faq page it states “our secure online payment processing” so I’m guessing you may need the address info to bill after the trial period if you’re using a merchant account instead of something like paypal.

Could you have a form popup requesting their full address/cc details in the members area, X days after their initial signup?

So they can at least get a campaign setup, get them using the service as quickly as possible. To show them it works, then for example…

3 days after using the service send an email with a discount to upgrade today, plus the popup in the members area.

If they decline, the same thing after 7 days, still with a discount but higher then the first offer. And so on… until it hits the normal price after the trial is finished.

If you use a service like Aweber for the signup form. You could automatically send the emails I mention above. If they then buy, Aweber has a great feature to automatically move/remove from one list to another. Basically to take them out of the pre-sell loop.

    ============
I didn’t see a price displayed once the trial period is finished, unless I look at the faq page. Then it only states the per day cost.

That’s yet another click away from joining, personally I like to know the price before I signup to anything. But using the multivariate, you could find out what converts better on the landing page (display price/no price displayed). Try displaying the per day/week/month price and find out exactly what gives you the best conversion, no more guessing games.

I’ll leave it at that! my comments are getting a bit too long :)

I learn many areas that were vague. I haven’t got started with Pay for Click yet. Your imformation was extremely helpful, when I do, Michael. The Bull Guard dog idea would be an excellent challenge.
    Thanks a bunch, Eleanor

  7. Dave Says:

Why oh why am I continually reminded of the KISS principle - that is so very very rare on the Net. (Keep It Simple, Stupid). ClickReport screams for some simplification!

  8. Jim Says:

I learned a lot from this review and you got my creative juices flowing. Thanks Michael.

Robert, at 3:10 on the video Michael is talking about the benefits he refers to scaring away thieves, more uptime, less wasted clicks, every click from advertising is money well spent.

So tweaking this a little and taking it a step further, money well spent translates more powerfully to money save.

there is a pile of money or a treasure chest overflowing with money and riches with a dog in front of it that is barking and the sound waves from the bark are knocking down thieves of pirates trying to take the money.

Below this graphic could be 3-5 ways you save money.

Are you being riped off could be represented by a person in bed counting sheep reflecting the worry of being stolen from. A person asleep, sawing ZZZs with money under the mattress or the treasure chest next to the bed with the dog scaring away the thieves could picture the piece of mind after using your software.

Then if you really put your mind to it, using clip art, screen capture, text and/or audio you could have a really cool video for the pain (worry, lost sleep, money out the window, the process (train a guard dog or buy an already trained guard dog) and the benefit, sleep good at night, have your money safe ans secure and have you guard dog constantly on duty so you can live happily ever after.

Well, I better turn my focus to achieving my own internet success. I hope you and maybe others found some value in this.

Thanks again Michael for the great learning experience.

    Jim

    Hi Michael.

This time you really pulled the ‘Rabbit Out Of The Hat’. A real, proper website torn apart and re-structured before our very eyes.

I’m guessing that everyone who’s watched this will have appreciated the fact that a consultation ‘that’ comprehensive would not have come cheap, let alone FREE!

    A great piece of education.

    Many thanks,

    Pete.

    Hi Michael

    Great review!

The first thing I think when I look at his first page is that it’s one of those auto-generated adsense pages with an article (that may or may not be any good) surrounded by adsense ads! I would probably never even look at all the sidebar stuff.

TW is still bubbling away - expect to hear something towards the end of March about it! :-)

It’s grown bigger than I ever thought hence the slight delay in making it public..

  13. Ulla H Says:

    Michael,

I find it very interesting to follow your way to work and think.

You have eyes that see things other can’t perceive. And yes, I understand that this is the things that differ between those that are successful and those that are not so successful. Find it great to learn this from you.

I am grateful for everyting you share.

Thanks for the great conference call with so much high quality information. It is really amazing to receive all of this for free. I learned me a lot and the funnel that you described made me to realize that I have to change tactics.

And the information about Squidoo gave me more idea and jobs now to set up. I start to find im fun. And all other stuff you talked about made stay up until the morning and tiredness took over and I had to go to bed. :)

    All the best,
    Ulla H
